Thank you for your interest in volunteering with PBDD. Here are some ideas of what you can do to help. Feel free to suggest your own.
- Research potential grants to help in starting a computer refurbishing/computer training/computer give-away in an area that doesn’t have one. This can be done by researching organizations addressing the digital divide, via the grants database accessible at the C.O.D. library.
- Someone interested in the technical aspects of refurbishing could become a Microsoft Certified Refurbisher to enable us to be a better-informed partner.
- Could use someone to sift through information on partners’ websites for white papers, and the NDIA site, and annual reports of Partner’s for funding information and communicating impact.
- Look for origin stories of our partners from website, or newspaper articles, to gather information for how to get started.
- Outreach to organizations in Milwaukee, trying to find an agency willing to start a refurbishing program.
- Develop a more professional logo for PBDD.
- Set up a free donor database that requires a web-server or other technical things.
- Investigate Cyber Seniors.
