3 Action Plan
We will go through the action plan tool individually and share – https://www.theleadershipdeficit.org/defining-an-action
Discussed how useful, or not, the tool was. It seemed to work better for a bigger, new goal rather than ongoing work that we’ve been doing.
Went through the items that we used it for:
- specifically connect with 2-3 partners to identify their gaps that we could help with
- create a working group that joins PBDD with NDIA or create a working group with a few NDIA partners
- expand grant-giving program to give a grant in a competitive way like a video pitch with one winner, or provide a general grant asking for what is unique about their organization.
- monitor NDIA mailing list to identify gaps that we can help fill
- strengthen the voice of the national organization and smaller organizations so there is continuous attention to the important issues in digital inclusion
- stretch develop a searchable tool for online classes
4 Information Sharing
- Net Inclusion Soiree planning. Need ingredient list for both a margarita with alcohol and without.
- Review partner description update status: Connected Nation follow-up: Web page updated. Sent descriptions to Digital Bridge & Ed Tech of WNY on Feb 16. Ed Tech approved it
- Web page updates: Research, Low-cost Access options, Public Policy Initiatives, Conferences, New (added NDIA conference and our reception).
- Updating Partner info — next two Free Geek & Helping Link. See Latest two updates to read through, make suggestions, then we can contact the organizations to run it past them. Doing next month.
- Partner Status: Strive2Thrive Edu found us and contacted us. New partner.
- Milwaukee- third/final capacity building webinar held 2/25
- Net Inclusion housing in Portland. After some effort, Barry procured a refund for 2020. Working to reserve space for 2022
5 Action Item Status Updates (if time)
Walking through Action Item List and noting updates. In the minutes, this will record items closed during meeting.
- Closed 3/15/21 – Opened Jan 31, 2020 Go through Core vision tool – https://www.theleadershipdeficit.org/my-core-vision and action plan tool – https://www.theleadershipdeficit.org/defining-an-action Good discussion on what success looks like, and how we measure it.
- Here’s some of what we came up with from the first tool:
- PBDD interacts regularly with 20-30 partner organizations sharing challenges, solutions and specifics.
- PBDD maintains a website with information useful to digital inclusion agencies.
- PBDD provides shared materials that are enhanced and reused.
- People ask to join PBDD as partners,
- PBDD partners answer our emails and provide input to research papers
- PBDD connects two or more partners who can learn from each other to solve a specific problem.
- Next step — discuss in person, including the action tool above and will incorporate the goals in our goal setting next month.
